On the occasion of Human Rights Day (Friday, December 10), the Dutch Embassy, ​​in collaboration with Young Professionals Cafe will host an outdoor viewing of the documentary Fly so Far by director Celina Escher. After the screening, Maggie Schmeitz, the evening’s moderator, will open the conversation, discussing potential parallels between the film and social matters in Suriname.

Inspiring portrait of Teodora del Carmen Vásquez from El Salvador. After her baby was born dead, she was convicted to thirty years imprisonment for aggravated homicide. In prison she finds out that she is not the only one. Together, the women decide to take a stand. Powerful documentary about a woman who wouldn’t give up, interspersed with beautiful animations.
